OCAD
- OCAD will begin their projects this Wednesday February 26
- Matt is going to look into getting funding from OCAD’s student council
- Jenna and Mallory will visit OCAD sometime this week to look at the rooms and take pictures
- We are going to invite OCAD to the New Media Gallery opening this Thursday February 27

Fundraiser

- Concerns were raised about the location of the initial idea of having a party at Geoff’s house
- It was felt that we would alienate some people by only having beer
- Suggestions of holding the fundraiser at the Ram were raised because a larger variety of drinks are available
- Concerns over the availability of the Ram were raised as we are booking it kind of late
- Until we hear back from American Apparel the general consensus is we will not fundraise with an event, instead we will procure funds through curatorial donations, a grant from the New Media Gallery and possibly money from OCAD’s student council
- Ella will be following up with American Apparel to see if they are considering our request

Catering
- If we officially have food at the opening we have to use Ryerson’s catering company because of contractual obligations – it can be quite pricey
- Instead we will most likely make some homemade treats but will not advertise it
- Food may be at all three locations or at one central location, most likely the Image Arts building

Promotions

- Postcards and buttons will be distributed two weeks before the show as to not interfere too much with the promotions for the 4th year show
- We will approach the 4th years and ask if we can have a small table promoting our show at their show opening
- The one form of advertising we will do is with Akimbo – the cost is $74.20
- Other advertising will be in the form of free listings in Eye Weekly, etc.
- Approaches have been made to Toronto Life Square for a donation of time on their screen at Yonge & Dundas for advertisement time the day of the show
- Possibly they could be more involved with show sponsorship

Editing Processes
- All written material needs to be signed off on by Kathleen
- Someone other than the original writer or designer needs to edit/proof the writing or design
- Editing steps
o Substantive Edit – an edit of the content
o Copy Edit – an edit for spelling an grammar
o Proof – a final edit when everything is laid out
- At the end of each step the piece will be returned to the original writer so they can input the changes

Logo and Graphic Design
- A poll for the style of logo will be up this week, the students will have until Thursday February 28 to vote
- Geoff will then create three logos using the winning design and the curatorial group will discuss the new logos at the Monday meeting March 3
- For the public website students will be sent an html template in a zip file which they will fill with the 100 word description and pictures of their projects
- They will send it back to Geoff and the pages will be hosted on the main site

Exhibition Design

- At the show the artist’s names and names of the works will be posted outside each room instead of individually at each piece
- Programs will be handed out that include a map, descriptions of each piece, names of the artists and where each piece can be found
- Jenna has suggested that we chalk footprints along Dundas street to help direct people to the different locations – the dual meaning of feet as a measurement and the suggestion of leading people will work well to direct people
- The fact that chalk is easily washed away in the rain makes it a great guerilla addition to our directions
- The footprints may also continue in the buildings
